About Us

Arts-Kids is celebrating 10 years serving the youth of Summit County Utah.  Arts-Kids is a one of a kind after school youth development program, which is offered at no cost to participants. The program is available to students ages 8-15, who are carefully selected by school counselors.  This creates a well-balanced group with diverse backgrounds.  Our innovative approach helps children reach their full potential.  Teachers, parents and students can also recommend or request participation.

We incorporate various art forms as a means to stimulate creative thinking, problem solving and listening skills.  Practicing professional artists provide experiential activities in each of their particular art disciplines.

Unique to our program is the emphasis on community and embracing diversity.  Each group meeting begins and ends with a talking circle, using a talking stick decorated by the participants. Each child and adult states a “high” and a “low” for the week and an intention for the session. During the closing circle, each person indicates whether his/her intention was met, relates a learning experience or talks about what was meaningful during the art process.
