Volunteering

Arts-Kids has volunteer opportunities for the after-school program during the school year, for summer camp in July and August, and for events throughout the year.

Program volunteer jobs range from helping the artists and children with the art projects, and assisting the facilitators during the group sessions. They usually sign up to work with one ten-week group for the semester. Commitment time is one day per week for three hours in after school hours.

Summer camp volunteers have similar responsibilities but for one of the week-long sessions.

Event volunteers have specific assignments for one of the many events held either by or for Arts-Kids.

Volunteers are a critical component to the Arts-Kids program as a desired 3 children to every 1 adult or older teen ratio is the goal in each after school group and during the summer camps. Training is offered biannually and focuses on child development and communication techniques. Volunteers gain a better understanding of the expressive arts, develop stronger communication skills, and learn conflict resolution techniques, all while mentoring youth in a dynamic and fun atmosphere.
Camp volunteers aid the artist for the day, help out during snack and lunchtime and serve as role models to the children. Volunteers provide structure and balance during each week of camp at the Park City Mountain Resort.

Arts-Kids Event Volunteers can assist with a variety of community events throughout the year, including the annual fundraiser Paint the Town in March. Help is needed in planning and preparation for the events as well as the actual day(s) of the events. For Paint the Town, volunteers can serve on planning committees prior to the event, or commit a couple of hours the day or evening of the event. Help ranges from decorating, ticket sales and silent auction management to art activity assistance and event set-up/take-down. Opportunities are available to fit any schedule or interest. Arts-Kids also participates in local community events during the year, such as Park City's Fourth of July Celebration--parade and park activities. Call 435-615-7878 for information.
